Varun Beverages, one of PepsiCo's largest franchisees outside the United States

For ₹1,320 cr, PepsiCo bottler Varun Beverage Company will buy BevCo in South Africa.

South African business BevCo produces and sells its own line of non-alcoholic drinks under the PepsiCo license in addition to its own products.

Dec. 19, 2023: Varun Beverages Ltd., announced that it would buy The Beverage Company (BevCo), a South African company, for Rs. 1,320 crore, or $158.71 million.

In the fiscal year 2023, Bevco sold 117 million 8-ounce cases. BevCo made ZAR 3,615 million, or Rs 1,590 crore, in net revenue in FY23.

BevCo has been given franchise rights in South Africa, Lesotho, and Eswatini by PepsiCo Inc. It also has distribution rights in Botswana and Namibia.

At today's meeting, The Company's Board of Directors decided to buy a 100% stake in the company
